Yup! You read that right! I’ve got very big news!
I’m immensely proud and humbled to announce that I have joined an amazing group of makers in being a Spoonflower Small Business Grant winner!
From the moment I started selling espadrille kits I found a fabulous partner in Spoonflower. Not only do my customers seek custom-designed fabric from the Spoonflower marketplace but the company also offered an opportunity to guest blog and teach workshops (remember this series of how-to posts sponsored by them?). It’s always been a joy to work with them and I love their eco-friendly practices. Did you know that their digitally printed-on-demand fabric uses only a thimble of water to create the same amount of fabric that would take 200 liters using traditional methods? Crazy, right!
They’ve continued to offer a 50% coupon for all my I Got It kits and they promote me all the time. They really put their money where their mouth is when it comes to supporting small business.
That means so much. It’s heartening to see a company that cares and supports little dreamers like me. To me, becoming a Spoonflower Small Business Award winner means joining something spectacular.
I can’t wait to put this grant to good use! I have big, exciting plans, you guys! I’m going to create an exclusive kit that will include a fabric design guide with advice from existing fabric designers on Spoonflower & a code to order fabric. That way emerging designers can create and print their own fabric to turn into the most unique espadrilles! Can’t you just picture it?! I certainly can. I’m really looking forward to digging into this project. I cannot wait to share the process with you. I’ve never designed my own fabric so I’m hoping to learn as I go and bring all of that to you in turn!
Note: The espadrilles pictures were made with Holli Zollinger’s fabric from Spoonflower.
