Adrianna from Hey June Handmade just released a new casual pants pattern, Seaforth Pants, and I was happy to be a pattern tester for her.
I decided to make my ‘tester’ pair in this plum double gauze fabric (I’m so sorry I can’t remember where I bought it but it might have been from the now de-funct Imagine Gnats?). I scrounged together the accompanying supplies like the zippers and elastic (ahem…sewing two short bit of 2″ elastic together) and then the fit perfectly! So, I’m not proudly wearing these Seaforth Pants with mis-colored zippers ALL THE TIME. I don’t really care because these pants feel like a full-on dream.
The double gauze has the perfect amount of loose ease and soft comfort combined with the fabulous styling of this pattern…perfection! The front pockets have zipper entry, which opens up the possibility of adding in jeans-style zippers for a cool metal look. As I mentioned, I was working with what I had on hand, so mine are plastic. This will not be the last pair of these I make and I will definitely go with metal zippers next time.
Let me be honest with you, these pants manage to fit over my juicy behind with the perfect amount of ease and fit my waist in a straight size 10, no alterations needed! I want to make a pair in light denim/rayon mix and a natural linen pair! Ah! Dreamy. I need more of these in my life especially as this summer seems like it’s going to be HOT!
The pattern also has an elasticized ankle version so it’s really set for a full summer of EASY LIVING!
The Covid isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so I’m gonna live it up in casual but cute pants.
Paired with a pair of my favorite espadrilles I’m ready for more of my favorite quarantine moments…board games and BBQing with the family.
P.S. I had to show off my amazing lavender crop this year! It makes our entire yard smell like luscious lavender and it’s attracted so many happy bees! We even had an entire beehive move into a tree outside our house. Apparently, it is completely safe if we leave them alone. But, let me tell you, there is some premium lavender honey in that tree!
Ooh, I just noticed that these are still on sale for 20% so now is a good time to grab the pattern.
Note: I received the pattern for free as a result of my efforts as a pattern tester but I honestly recommend it and am representing it honestly here.
