It’s July and that means it’s time to be filled with even more espadrilles inspiration, right?! I will answer that. Yes! July is definitely espadrilles season and I am here with a stunner. This time around I am thrilled to introduce my lovely and talented friend Meghann from Halfmoon Atelier who has so kindly created DIY Leather Espadrilles. Just for us!
Meghann is joining my year-long Artist Series by showing us how to make leather espadrille sandals that fully epitomize summer. This design is exclusively created for A HAPPY STITCH Espadrille Kits and won’t be around for long! In fact, this limited edition kit will only be on sale until August 8th.
Just LOOK at this beautiful strappy goodness!
Meghann’s detailed, photo-packed PDF with full instructions show off how to create these beauties. Her PDF, along with standard I GOT IT kit supplies, comes in this listing for the next month.
Meghann really knows what she is talking about when it comes to working with leather. Before becoming a pattern designing maven, she had a successful bricks-and-mortar shop selling handmade vegetable-tanned leather bags. Her leather expertise runs deep, my friends.
From her tropical location on the island of Saba she was bound to come up with the summeriest of the summery shoes for us to share and enjoy.
In her fabulous PDF she walks through how to create sandals with both an ankle strap and without. Yet, even as incredible as her design is, one of the most impressive things about what Meghann has pulled together is the incredible outside of the box feeling I get from these. I can imagine fabric straps and various adjustments to the leather crossing and all kinds of additional directions to take this idea of simple straps attached to the shoe sole to make shoes.
Really, Meghann has spread sparkle dust over the whole espadrilles adventure.
Be sure to grab your Artist Series Kit for this month and dive into making a whole different kind of shoe with myself and Meghann by your side! Be sure to check out her blog post here on her site! Follow her on Instagram while you are at it because she is a veritable fountain of chic, easy-going inspiration and you won’t regret it.
