You guys! I’m so excited to be releasing a whole new summer 2019 collection of fabrics for the THE ESPADRILLES KITS. It’s all the beautiful, lush floral fabrics and they look so fabulous as espadrilles that I really think you all are going to go nuts.
Also…EEK! I made my first video! Did you watch it? You have to tell me what you think. I got started playing around with the iMovie app over the weekend to create some Father’s Day videos. (My goal was to make my husband tear up and I’m proud to say he did! He’s such a softie.<3 ) This video, though, shows off each of the new fabrics in the summer 2019 collection and if it makes you weep then you just have good taste.
It’s a little bit more precious than I would like it to be but I’m not experienced enough to do music off the scripted options. Still, it was so fun to create. I want to make videos for everything now. Ha! My kids are probably cringing hearing that.
Enough about my lack of video acumen. On to discussing the shoes! Here are the shoes out in the wild on me and my models with our most natural poses. 🙂
I am deeply in love with lots of Rifle Paper Co. fabric and equally thrilled that the scale of these designs is such a good fit for espadrilles. If you read my post here you know a little bit about the challenge of finding medium-scale prints to fit onto espadrille shoes. Rifle Paper Company fabrics have not only has fabulous designs but also consistently has prints at a great scale for making shoes. Love, love, love!
All in all, there are five new prints in the summer 2019 collection. To grab one check out my Etsy Shop or click on any of the pictures, they will take you there.
+ Wildwood Garden. This was a print that I saw lots of people bringing to my classes and realized how perfect it is for a pair of garden-y shoes. So I really have to thank my fabulous students for having such good taste. The print has lots of opportunity for fussy cutting. There are so many possible version of a wildwood garden shoe available.
+ Midnight Metallic Garden. This print makes me think of Midsummer Night’s Dream and the way that flowers might look under a full moon. I have a special soft spot for the gold metallic color and the gorgeous mystery of this one.
+ Canvas Peony. I have a soft spot for this gentle, oversized peony print. I was concerned that the peonies would be too big but I really like the way they wrap around the shoe.
+ Canvas Les Fleurs. This print feels like a classic. It was one of the first prints I had when I started selling kits and it just consistently looks so cute and summer-y. I had to bring it back. Photo (and feet) are courtesy of Jane from Buzzmills.
+ Midnight Peony. I suppose I have already revealed my love of the midnight version of a print and this one is the same. I love the baby blue and pink against a black background on this oversized print.
There you have it! The whole celebration of summer and an explosion of gardens for your feet! Welcome to the Summer 2019 Collection. Be sure to check out the kits in my Etsy Shop.
