Happy Friday all! It’s a really, really exciting day for me because after tons of hard work….I am so excited to announce the release of my latest sewing pattern! I am so in love with the result.
I’ve had a lot of help making this a great pattern including a crew of incredible bag testers and the incredible techie work of Daniela at Modern Stitch Studio.
One of the things I love so much about this messenger bag pattern is how versatile and functional it is. You might remember that I tried out a lot of bags before designing this one and teaching it as a class. This bag include an internal gusset pocket, has a slim profile that still perfectly fits a laptop, notebook and book and the strap is custom-sized to fit you! It makes it easy to make a bag for all ages and sizes!
Look at the amazing variety and incredible beauty in these bags from my testers:
Clockwise: Messenger Bag from Sewplicity; The Man Bag from Gigi; and Cotton + Steel Mustang Bag from Anya.
Clockwise: Blue bag from Beth; Messenger from Andrea; and a geometric bag from Gigi.
What an inspiring bunch of bags! It’s really incredible to see my pattern come to life in so many beautiful ways. Jennifer from Sewplicity even pulled together a tutorial on how to add an adjustable strap, be sure to check it out.
They had the nicest things to say about the bag, too.
“I finished my bag and… I LOVE IT!! I’ve never made a bag with interfacing before and I don’t know if I can ever go back!”
” It turned out better than I ever could have expected. My girls are all begging for one – “Messenger bags are WAY cooler than backpacks, Mom.”
“The size is perfect for a medium size messenger bag. And because of all the interfacing, it’s pretty sturdy.”
I keep thinking of great new ways to work with this pattern to make amazing bags and I can’t wait to share them with you. For now, hop on over and get yourself a pattern! Embrace your inner bike messenger!

My girls love them:-)
A must now a days:-)
I attached a sew in magnet https://www.magnet-shop.com/search?sSearch=Sew-in%20magnets#/qs/Sew-in%20magnets on the flap, so the bag stays closed.
We have decided that the girl will get new ones pretty soon, then age and color preferences change…
Have a great day
