As a part of the Perfect Pattern Parcel #3 blogger showcase, I made this “water bottle” carrier. It’s summer weather in our part of the world and a great time for refreshing “water” with an al fresco dinner, right?!
Now, you might be asking yourself why I keep air-quoting? And also why the wine glass? Good questions. It’s because, as you probably noticed, there ain’t no water in my water bottle carrier. It’s all wine and beer, baby.
I will be honest, when I first saw the water bottle carrier as a part of the pattern bundle I wasn’t that into it. We have a great bag with pockets for pool days and time at the beach and they fit our water bottles just fine. Then I got thinking about summertime drinks on the patio and BBQ afternoons with ours friends and I realized I NEEDED this happy tote for bringing the drinks, chips and dip from house to house. Our little suburban town is a happy, wine-soaked place in the summer and this tote has just classed it up big time for me!
This pattern from Radiant Home Design is really sweet and the result is a sturdy bag. (The blog is a great crafty resource, be sure to check it out.) I lined mine with fast2fuse heavyweight interfacing so it holds is shape beautifully. I got confused for some reason when I was assembling the inside dividers and I ended up winging it a little on the interior.
The bag is supposed to have six equal divisions instead of four but considering it fits my wine bottles just fine, I am not complaining. No more clanking around town!

Disclosure: I was given the PPP#3 and asked if I would kindly blog about it but I received no compensation and my opinions and critiques are my own.
hehehe i love your “water bottle” carrier! my mom used to mix her own wine coolers in a water bottle for days at the pool when i was a kid for sneaky poolside alcoholic refreshment. smart woman! 😉
You mom is so smart! Boozy summer is sometimes called for, right?
My Water Bottle Tote will get used for wine and beer more often too! Love your fabric choices. 🙂
Wahoo! Cheers from afar, my friend.
Ah! Sorry you got confused! I was considering making a video for that step for the visual learners. Way to figure out something that worked for you though! It’s not hard, but I think it always helps to see the process in action. Have a lovely summer with your “water” carrier!
Aw, thanks Sara! Yes, I’m a super visual (and impatient) learner. Let me know if you do make a video because I do actually want to learn properly. (said sheepishly). 🙂
Oh this looks great! You may have just talked me into getting it!! I do like my “water” 😉 haha
Ha! Go for it Natalie! “Water” is important in summer. 🙂
