Recently, the folks at Cloud 9 fabrics asked me if I would stitch up some baby clothes in their new line, Tout Petit by Little Cube Paris and I was more than happy to play with these adorable elephants, kitties and (*ahem*) totally awesome narwhals. Seriously, narwhals!! Ah. Too cute. These adorable outfits recently travelled with the Cloud 9 team to Cologne for the handcrafts and hobbies fair. Well travelled buggers.
I made three onesies, three baby jackets and six top knot hats for Cloud 9. The hats are my own design but everything else comes from the Lullaby Layette Set from Oliver + S. The whole get-up really makes for the perfect baby layette and it’s all in organic knit. Baby heaven.
The pattern for the little jacket and the onesie is, as is characteristic of all Oliver + S patterns, meticulously designed and constructed in such a way as to inspire the feeling of perfection. Liesl really is a complete pro.
Look. At. How. Cute! These are baby clothes that make my ovaries hurt! The whole Petit Tout line is basically an overload of baby cuteness as is pretty much everything coming out of Little Cube. I got to play with most of the knit fabrics in this line, with the exception of a little dog print, but the full collection include swaddle gauze and sheeting fabric. I can totally imagine outfitting a nursery and a baby with this collection. But, considering those days are far behind me I had to simply enjoy the knits that came my way.
Aren’t these narwhals the best thing ever? Yes, yes indeed they are. The pattern details are pretty great too. Love this snap placket and the contrast neckline. I also love that the onesie has a back pleat that looks designed to make room for the big baby booty. The little jackets really stole my heart, though. They are designed with shoulder darts and look like the perfect, snuggly fall or spring jacket for a sweet baby. I’ve already made others for baby showers!
This little yellow jacket reminds me of the probably the most famous yellow jumper in viral video world…that of our favorite hippity hoppity gate-crashing little girl, Marion Kelly. She would totally wear this. And I think that’s just about the best thing to leave you all with.
Hope everyone is looking forward to a hippity-hoppity weekend. We are headed off on adventures in national parks of the Southwest for our spring break! Be sure to pop over to my IG account for pictures.
