I’ve started to think of this cardigan as my campfire cardigan. Not because it has sat next to an actual campfire (not yet, at least) but because it is exactly what I would want to wrap myself in if I did. I made it a a while ago and it’s so super cozy, comfy…the ultimate in self-love if self-love could exist in a flowy, open-front cardigan. It’s been too hot to wear it lately but I’m looking forward to a cool evening when this cardigan meets my favorite yoga pants.
The pattern is from the genius brain of Rachael at Imagine Gnats, it’s her Meridian Cardigan and it comes as a women’s pattern as well as a girl’s pattern. Rachael gave the pattern to me to thank me for supporting her indiegogo campaign in which she raised enough money to create paper patterns. Pretty great, huh!?
I used soft, scrumptious & amazing knit from the heaven & helsinki line that Michael Miller came out with a while ago and seems to have now disappeared. It’s a real shame because this stuff is pillow-soft and such nice quality. I made this shirt with knits from the same line. This cardigan is not my sexiest creation ever but it is pretty dang functional and sometimes cozy and cuddled-up are sexy, right?
