Sienna Bloom Espadrilles Kit + Fundraiser

June 26, 2020 By Melissa Q. Leave a Comment

Eep! I am so excited to be adding another fabric to the espadrilles kits. Meet the Sienna Bloom Espadrilles Kit!  I’m also thrilled to announce that 20% of proceeds from this kit and ALL other kits will go to the Equal Justice Initiative from now until July 22nd. Basically all sales, is what I’m trying to say.

EJI focuses on Criminal Justice Reform, Racial Justice and Public Education and is led by Bryan Stevenson who is best known for being the public attorney and author of the book Just Mercy. This video gives an overview of their mission.  I am so excited to be able to use my business to help support their important work and I hope you will join me!

This gorgeous fabric just called my name, it’s a Cotton + Steel fabric and it has the lovely combination of rust and pink and reminds me of a garden at dusk.  I’m very happy to be able to offer it for the kits.

There is another thing very special about the Sienna bloom espadrilles kit.  I decided to pair it with a beautiful new stitching thread! It’s an organic honey-colored lightweight linen yarn that matches this Sienna bloom fabric so perfectly. It’s like they are made for each other! This is a bit of a luxe kit and I’m really loving that vibe.

As much as I love the look of the classic bone colored yarn (it is, truly, a classic look). I felt drawn to this combination of honey and Sienna and the subtlety of the two together.

If you have followed me for a while, receive my newsletter or follow me on Instagram  then you already know I lead with empathy and am guided by a belief in social justice.  I’m an empath. My heart leads the way.

I haven’t always been as steadfast or clear about those heartfelt beliefs as I should have been. I haven’t always been as knowledgeable, either. I believe Black Lives Matter and I’m committed to ongoing anti-racist work.  This is why it thrills me to no end to be able to use my business to raise funds for something I believe in. I hope you join me! Please reach out if you have questions.
