I’m not one of those people that loves the whole match-matchy thing between parents and kids. But, I had to make an exception with the espadrilles because my insides go all gooey with the idea of matching espadrille shoes. I’m calling them the MY FEET AND YOURS espadrille kits and they are making me exceedingly happy. Think of how cool these would be at special events like beach weddings or vacation! It just makes me want to squeal. Shoes that are handmade nonetheless! It’s too much. I guess I’m a real sap beneath this tough exterior. 🙂
My genius was only confirmed when my friend and her daughter came over for these photos. Look at them! They are so awesome. My kids are pretty much beyond the “it’s cool to look like Mom” phase so this is extra fun for me. I love it as a DIY Easter gift. Eek!
Of course, there are lots of options and opportunity for making shoe for little boys to match with mom as well. Or an opportunity to be the awesomest auntie! Scrumptious.
I just posted two listings for MY FEET & YOURS on my Etsy shop. These extra sweet kits are available with a choice of my luscious fabrics when you get a STARTER KIT or if you already have enough fabric (like so many of us) there is an I GOT IT kit that comes without fabric. (Just a note: each pair of kid shoes requires around a fat quarter of canvas and the same of a cotton lining. The adult shoes use about 1/3 yard for both the canvas and lining. It might be more depending on the direction of the design on the fabric and the degree to which you want to fussy cut.)
I cannot wait to see what people make with these. I feel like it’s going to be so extra special.
